VIETNAM’S PICKLEBALL BOOM CAN’T BE STOPPED 😱🇻🇳🔥
In Less Than Two Years, Pickleball Explodes Into a 1,000-Billion-VND Market
Pickleball is no longer just a rising sport in Vietnam — it has become an unstoppable phenomenon. From a niche activity in early 2023, it has rapidly transformed into a near–1,000-billion-VND consumer market, leading the nation in growth and reaching No.1 in Asia in awareness.

A Market Approaching 1,000 Billion VND
Data from major e-commerce platforms shows that between January 1 and October 31, 2025, total pickleball sales reached 988.4 billion VND — a massive 513% surge compared to the same period in 2024. Vietnamese consumers purchased 4.92 million pickleball-related products, reflecting a year-on-year growth of 222%.
Every major product category recorded explosive growth:
• Paddles +314%
• Shoes +459%
• Apparel +500% — the highest in the industry
• Bags & backpacks +117%
What’s even more impressive: every quarter in 2025 showed continuous growth, with no signs of a slowdown.
Quarterly revenue:
• Q1/2024: 15B
• Q2/2024: 27B
• Q3/2024: 75B
• Q4/2024: 163B
• Q1/2025: 212B
• Q2/2025: 297B
• Q3/2025: 357B
Q3/2025 alone saw a 377% increase compared to the same quarter last year, proving demand is scaling rapidly and sustainably.
1.4 Million Paddles Sold in Just 10 Months

Vietnamese players purchased 1.4 million pickleball paddles in the first 10 months of 2025, generating 396.6 billion VND — nearly double the total paddle revenue of 2024. And the market is expanding across multiple price tiers, not just the beginner segment.
Price distribution:
• 200,000 – 500,000 VND: 22%
• 500,000 – 1,000,000 VND: 21%
• 2 – 5 million VND: 20%
There are now 3,900 pickleball sellers on e-commerce platforms in Vietnam — a 158% increase — showing that retailers, sports brands, and specialty stores are all racing to enter the market.
Vietnam Leads Asia in Awareness and Participation
A June 2025 report by UPA Asia and YouGov Singapore reveals that Vietnam is No.1 in Asia in multiple metrics:
• Awareness up 152% — highest in the region
• 88% of respondents have heard of pickleball — top among 12 countries
• 37% have tried playing — also No.1
• 16 million monthly active players — trailing only India (178M) and China (60M)
On Google Trends, pickleball has been among the most-searched sports keywords since early 2024, second only to football.
Why Do Vietnamese People Love Pickleball?

Key motivations include:
• 35% play for fun
• 33% for better health
• 31% find the sport easy to access
• 29% play with friends or family
• 27% see it as a social and networking activity
• 28% transitioned from tennis, badminton, table tennis, or squash
The sport’s sudden visibility has also been amplified by social media. Discussions around outfits worn by celebrities like Ngọc Trinh, Quỳnh Kool, Milan Phạm and Sĩ Thanh unintentionally pushed pickleball deeper into the public spotlight, accelerating nationwide interest.
No Longer a Temporary Trend
With consistent quarter-over-quarter growth, millions of active players, and a booming retail ecosystem, pickleball in Vietnam has moved far beyond the “trend phase.” It is now one of the fastest-growing sports and consumer markets in the country — and may soon mature into a full-scale sports ecosystem on par with running or grassroots football.
